When I heard about a new pop up play centre for under 5’s opening up at Stockland Bull Creek Shopping Centre, I just HAD to check it out! Emma Orchard, founder of Fun HQ, invited me to come along on the opening day. Read on for all the details, plus there’s an exclusive Melville Mums discount.
As you enter Fun HQ, the space is light, bright and colourful, and the first thing kids see is a bridge and large walkway with slides plus a variety rockers and bouncy riding toys to choose from. There’s also a wooden teepee that makes a perfect hiding nook and space that is sure to spark plenty of imaginative play.
At the far end, there is a massive ball pit that the little ones will absolutely love, and there’s ample space for several children to enjoy it at the same time. There’s also a separate up and down roller coaster if you have a little thrill-seeker on your hands.
Along the length of one wall are several large, comfy sofas that provide a great spot to sit back, relax and catch up with friends (or meet new ones) while keeping an eye on the little ones.
Time to take a break
Just outside the entrance, there’s a small area with a high table and stools plus a smaller table for the kids. This is where you can take a break from the fun and replenish those energy reserves. There are plenty of food and beverage options nearby including Baker’s Delight, The Coffee Club and Sushi Master.
There are no toilets within the play centre itself, but the shopping centre toilets and baby change facilities are only a short stroll around the corner.
With current COVID-19 guidelines, there is a limit of approximately 30 people within the space so it’s advised to contact Fun HQ in advance if you intend to visit as part of a mothers group etc. Regular cleaning is carried out on all the equipment so you can rest assured that your little one is playing in a clean, safe environment.
So, if you love play centres but don’t love how they are mostly designed with older children in mind, Fun HQ is the perfect place that is exclusively created for under 5’s.
