If you’re looking for ideas on how to keep the kids entertained over the long break, we’ve partnered with some great local businesses to bring you our Summer Holidays Activity Guide. With music, art & craft, dance, yoga, sport and more, there’s something for everyone!

Active Gym

Active Gymnastics is a leading Perth gymnastics club that is affiliated with Gymnastics Australia. Keep your little ones fit and entertained this summer in one of our holiday programs. We offer kindy sessions, morning sessions, afternoon and all day sessions. Fruit for morning tea is provided in our morning and all day sessions. Our morning and all day sessions include gymnastics, games and arts and crafts, whilst our afternoon classes are a two gymnastics or ninja session.

When: We have classes Monday – Thursday throughout January. Our first session begins on Monday 6th January.

Where: Active Gymnastics is located at unit 5 & 6, 30 Hines Road O’Connor.

Cost: Kindy session $15, Gym Fun $40, All Day $60, Ninja & Gym Dev $30

Alison Glew Guitar School

Rock Lab is an incredible 2 day school holiday experience for kids aged 7 to 12 where they have the opportunity to discover what it’s like to play in a real rock band!

No experience necessary! Everyone is welcome.

We’re passionate about breaking the bedroom musician free, connecting kids through music and forming community and belonging for young people.

Rock lab introduces kids to professional band equipment such as electric guitars and bass guitars, ukuleles, drums, key boards, amps and pedals. The “mini rock stars” get write their own songs, play music in a group, set up equipment like microphones, amps and pedals and they’re introduced to recording and production techniques … all while making new friends, playing games and having a bunch of fun while developing their musical knowledge.

When: Tuesday 14th January & Wednesday 15th January 2020

Time: 9 am – 3 pm (6 hours each day)

Where: Mount Pleasant College, 497 Marmion Street, Booragoon

Cost: $147

Bananas in Asanas


Register your child for Kids Yoga with ‘Bananas in Asanas’. It will definitely be something fun, active and calming for your child to do these school holidays!

Code Camp

Where parents find fun school holiday camps and activities, that empower your kids to design, code and create, and spark a passion so they can go and change the world with a smile on their face. More than 90,000 kids have loved Code Camp so far!

With 5 courses to choose from, your 5 to 12-year-old will have the most fun and epic journey learning the skills of the future! Each course is designed to empower your kids to design, code, and problem-solve, as they create their very own apps, games and websites. 

Code Camp is being held at various locations around Perth including Wesley College and All Saints’ College.

Junior Artists (4 to 6yrs) 1 hour class $29

Owl Lantern: Create a fun owl lantern! Look at colours and shapes and have fun cutting and pasting to create a gorgeous 3D owl lantern to take home.

Sunshine Mask: Kids will paint a wonderful sunshine, full face mask with lots of colour. Join us for a fun guided painting class and use the mask for dress up fun at home!

Creative Kids (7 to 13 yrs) 2 hour workshop $59

Fashion Portrait

We will look at fashion drawings and create a portrait in fashion design style, male or female. Learn how to draw and paint a portrait in this illustration workshop. Face pictures provided or bring one of yourself.

Botanical Collage on Canvas

This is a fun and colourful workshop using beautiful printed fabrics to create a handmade botanical or fruit collage work on canvas. Canvases will be painted to create a colourful background in this creative workshop.

All materials are provided for our 2hr Creative Kids workshops and 1hr Junior Artists classes.

We have 3 locations in Perth with holiday classes for children from 4 to 13 years of age. Art aprons are provided. Each class is taken by a fully qualified and experienced early childhood, primary or high school art teacher with a maximum of twelve students. Parents are not required to stay with their child for the Creative Kids or Junior Artist class.

Age Range

The age ranges for classes varies depending on the complexity of the subject matter and the degree of difficulty. Please only enrol your child if they are within the specified age range. Fine motor skills, manual dexterity and concept development have all been considered when determining the age range for each workshop. We want your child to have fun and to be able to succeed with their art endeavours! Where there is an overlap of ages between different programs please feel free to choose the classes that best suit your child’s interests.

East Fremantle Yacht Club

 Are you looking for something fun and interactive for your kids to do this school holidays? Tackers is an introductory, fun, games-based sailing program. All the equipment, including the boats, is provided.  Kids play loads of games and go on adventures together to learn how to sail! The course runs over 4 days from 8.30am – 12.30pm. Fremantle Leisure Centre

Our January 2020 holiday swimming program is fast approaching and there are very limited spaces remaining in classes. If your children are aged 3-12 years you can enrol them into one or two weeks of intensive lessons in January. Whether they need work on specific skills to pass their current level, you want to fast-track their progress, or simply are looking for a fun and active school holiday activity for your kids, this program is the perfect solution. For any current or new swimmers!

Gowrie Early Learning, Leeming offer vacation care program for children aged 4-12 years old. Each day will be a different fun theme for the children to enjoy!

Kids Get Crafty

Join your little one at Kids Get Crafty for 1 or 2 summer holiday workshops inspired by David McKee’s colourful creation, Elmer, and/or Julia Donaldson’s classic The Singing Mermaid.

These 2-hour workshops, based on the original storybooks and illustrations encourage your child to unleash their creativity as they create a herd of patterned elephants, a moving parts picture and a gorgeous tote bag and/or give a mermaid a beautiful beaded hairstyle, create a moving parts circus scene and decorate a wooden jewellery/treasure box.

Participants can expect to learn skills in art + crafts, including:
– Fine motor control and scissor skills
– Basic colour theory
– Sponge painting
– Stencilling
– Fabric painting

Kidz ‘n Sport

Kidz ‘n Sport is the best fundamental skill development and coordination program for children Perth. In small groups, children are taken through a variety of activities aimed to develop catching, throwing, running, agility and the basic skills of cricket, tee-ball, soccer and basketball.

Our program is also great for building confidence, resilience, developing social skills, and helping with school readiness.

Warehouse Fitness

Fill the school holidays ‘black spot’ time in the afternoon by enrolling the kids in Summer Squad! Plus, why not fit a training session in for yourself, while the kids get their movement hit for the day? You don’t need to be a member to enrol your kids in Summer Squad….in fact, if you aren’t a member, you’re still welcome to use the gym while your child is in class.

Wednesday – Yoga and Stretch
Our super fun Yoga class helps establish healthy habits at an early age. Yoga can enhance your child’s strength, coordination and flexibility, while encouraging body awareness and self-esteem. It can reduce your child’s anxiety and stress and promote a sense of calmness.

Thursday – Bootcamp
This class is designed to bridge the gap between competitive and non-competitive children introducing fitness in a fun, motivating and more flexible manner than many team sports. Allowing children to improve their coordination, cardiovascular fitness, strength and endurance. While promoting teamwork, communication skills, lateral thinking and self-confidence.
