Ideas For Easter Egg Hunts at Home

For the Littlest Easter Egg Hunters

  • Make the egg hunt a little easier by creating Easter Egg markers out of cardboard. Use labels such as LOOK HERE, EASTER BUNNY WAS HERE, MORE EGGS HERE.
  • Leave the Easter Bunny’s paw print trail for your little ones to follow. You can sprinkle baby powder or flour over a cardboard stencil to make the prints.
  • Tie balloons to each egg that is hidden around the house or garden so they can be easily found.

For the School aged Easter Bunny believers

  • Assign each child a different colour and they must find all the eggs that colour.
  • Instead of finding random eggs, your child must find the eggs that spell out their names. When they have found all the eggs they can collect their big chocolate egg surprise.
  • Hide your easter eggs inside the house and turn it into a scavenger hunt. Leave clues around the house that will help your kids find their eggs.

For the bigger kids or adults

  • If it’s a hot easter, get the bigger kids to do a pool hunt. Float plastic eggs with surprises inside or you can weight them down so the kids have to dive for them (please always ensure there are adults supervising pool play).
  • Fill all the eggs with confetti and one with glitter. When all the eggs have been collected, everyone gets to crack theirs open. Whoever cracks open the glitter egg gets the main prize.
  • The older kids can go on a scavenger hunt looking for other items around the garden and house and when they have completed their checklist they can collect their main easter surprise!
