The Australian Breastfeeding Association is a not-for-profit organisation that has branches in all Australian States and Territories. The Association offers support, information, education and counselling to women whose babies are breastfeeding and to their families.

The Applecross Group provides a local support group that meets at the Attadale Playgroup Facility at No. 1, Carroll Drive in Bicton. It meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month (apart from December and January) between 12 noon and 2.00 pm. Tea and coffee are provided and, if mums are having a 'good' morning, they bring a small plate of food to share. The support groups are run by trained, volunteer breastfeeding counsellors.

The Association also provides a free national Breastfeeding Helpline that operates 24 hours per day 7 days per week. Breastfeeding counsellors are on the roster to take calls. The telephone number is 1800 686 268.
