We provide a variety of specialist women's health services, including;

• Women's Health Physiotherapy:
  • Assessment of pelvic floor muscles (using either real-time ultrasound scan or an optional internal vaginal examination).
  • 6 week postnatal checks.
  • Prescribing an individualised pelvic floor exercise program.
  • Assessing and treating bladder issues such as incontinence, and urgency/overactive bladder.
  • Assessing and treating prolapse, including the fitting of optional silicone support pessaries to support prolapse.
  • Assessing and treating for overactive pelvic floor or pain with intercourse/vaginismus.
  • Assessing and treating for pelvic region pain due to endometriosis.
  • Assessing and treating rectus abdominus diastasis (abdominal separation) and prescribing an appropriate level of abdominal exercises.
  • Information on pelvic-floor friendly and abdominal separation friendly exercise programs (and how to progress exercise safely), especially for return to exercise postnatally.
  • Assessment and treatment of any pregnancy related aches and pains.
  • Hire TENS machines for labour (Mama TENS)
  • Active labour workshops (practical- practicing positions for labour and learning coping mechanisms)
  • Assessment and treatment of any musculoskeletal conditions (pelvic girdle pain, lower back pain, sciatica, mid back pain, neck pain, upper limb pain, wrist pain/carpal tunnel, lower limb pain, feet pain, hypermobility/Ehlers Danlos, pre-operative and post-operative rehabilitation assessment/treatment/hydrotherapy).
  • Paediatric physiotherapist to treat babies with torticollis/neck issues, plagiocephaly/flat head, Positional Tallipes/club foot, developmental issues.

Mums & Bubs Hydrotherapy Pool classes - for babies from 8 weeks old until ~8 months old:

• 20 minute mums and babies nursery rhyme routine in the 34 degree hydrotherapy pool.
• Feeding break, then community volunteers arrive to care for babies next to the pool.
• Followed by a 45 minute exercise class in the hydro pool with a Women's Health Physiotherapist (a good cardio workout, upper limb strength, lower limb strength, core strength, stretching, pelvic floor focus, lots of fun!).
• First class is free!
• Private health rebateable.
• Tues 11am and Thurs 11am - call to book on 08 6332 6666.
• A casual class, no ongoing commitments, feel free to cancel if you can't make it.

Pregnancy Hydrotherapy Pool classes:

• A 50 minute pregnancy exercise class in the hydro pool with a Women's Health Physiotherapist (a pregnancy suitable cardio workout, upper limb strength, lower limb strength, stretching, pelvic floor focus, relaxation, pregnancy pelvic health physio education, lots of fun!).
• Currently on Mondays at 6pm.
• Private health rebateable.
• A casual class, no ongoing commitments, feel free to cancel if you can't make it.

Nipple pain and breast blocked ducts/mastitis:

• Laser treatment for painful nipples from breastfeeding - pain-free and very effective.
• Ultrasound treatment for blocked ducts or mastitis from breastfeeding - pain-free and very effective.

Clinical Pilates:

• One hour classes in our Southcare Pilates Studio, including Reformers, mats, caddi, wundachair, spine corrector, and more.
• Small class numbers - between 1 to 3 clients max.
• Individualised programs to address each client's individual goals.
• Private health rebateable.
• A casual class, no ongoing commitments, feel free to cancel if you can't make it.
