This year’s Fremantle International Street Arts Festival brings us something different, as animals take over the urban in Wild Freo. Wild Freo presents new works for family audiences—created to reflect
Wild Freo presents new works for family audiences—created to reflect on how humans are threatening animals’ existence, to inspire hope and spark positive change.
Audiences are invited to venture into heritage spaces, parklands and streets, all transformed into animal sanctuaries—experience encounters with a blue fin whale, take a breath with an endangered species, or be transported by bird song across the city of Fremantle.
Each sanctuary features different artforms and has been created through a rich collaborative process between WA artists, Erth visual and physical theatre and young people from across Fremantle.
Featured WA artists include: Sandy McKendrick, Bryan Woltjen, Angela Ferolla, Tyrown Waigana, Jenessa King, Ella Hetherington, Teori Shannon, Rebecca Riggs-Bennett, Daley Rangi, Perth Symphony Orchestra, Field Designs, Joe Leach, Turid Calgaret, Rachel Riggs, Karla Hart Productions, Envelope Audio and more!
Get ready for diverse artforms from theatre, puppetry, illustration, sound, music, installation, projections, sculpture, dance, sand art, design, and animation.
Events are free and ticketed. See the Wild Freo program for times.
