Conflict to Confidence – Become a WAIMA Warrior (SOR – Melville) Date: 20th October 2019 Time: 11AM to 1PM Open to: 5-10 yrs old only Location: LeisureFit Melville (431 Canning Hwy, Melville WA 6156) Ticket: $15 per Child We will teach the WAIMA Warriors how to protect themselves if needed – learning some reality defense skills to be used at schools and in public. They will go through Personal Protection Skills: Stranger Danger School Yard Defense Getting Home Safely Confidence to deal with confrontation verbal and physical Situational Awareness Conflict Avoidance Multiple Attackers There will be three parts to each session: Technical Physical Scenario Training The Scenario training will have the WAIMA Warriors go through an inflatable Ninja Obstacle Course testing the students’ skills on what they have been taught and if they can perform under pressure. Parent Participation is COMPULSORY as there will be some strategies that parents will need to talk to their child with and also participate in some of the activities. At the end of the session, the students will receive a WAIMA WARRIOR certificate and wristband. There will also be some handout sheets given out to parents in an information folder including tips if your child is being bullied, their safety network and the WAIMA Warrior Code. The sequence of what you need to do if you are being bullied is designed so they can take it home and put it up on the fridge or wall and learn the way of the WAIMA Warrior.
